Dr. Bassam Abdelmalek, DVM

I earned my Bachelor of Science of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. I served in the Army as a veterinarian for one year, before joining the office of a reputable pharmaceutical company. Then, I started my own mixed animal clinic in 2006. I moved with my family to Edmonton, where I studied for his qualification certificate and earned it from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine to become a licensed veterinarian for Canada and the United States. I volunteered in many organizations, such as the Alberta Spay Neuter Task Force, VetEmerg, Edmonton Humane Society, and the Delaney Veterinary Hospital. I started at Morinville Veterinary Clinic and Animal Hospital in 2017. An area of veterinary medicine that interests me is small animal surgery, dermatology and dentistry. The part he loves most about his job is seeing a pet’s health turn around after treatment. Even more, seeing a client’s reaction when their beloved pet’s health turns around. The staff are highly professional, always smiling and cooperative. I am married and live with my wife and two lovely daughters, in the Edmonton South area. In my leisure time, I love reading and writing articles for my blog. During the summer, if I am not actively preparing and planning for Edmonton’s Heritage Festival, which I have been an active member and volunteer in since 2012, I can be seen enjoying some gardening. My first pet was a German Shepherd, named Kogy.
